the Queer Culture Club

Connecting our community.

Nurturing our crafts.

Conserving our stories.

Keeping Queer

Stories Alive

Queer Culture Club strives to provide a space for sexual/bodily minorities to learn about our past, reflect on our experiences, and dream about our future.

We do this by educating our community through workshops on oral history, preservation, bookbinding, and art. We also preserve queer art/ifacts and stories at our archive, which we are digitizing.

What We’re Working On

Preserving Our History

We turn interviews with lgbtq folks into a physical archive of our Queer stories

Hosting Workshops

We want to teach you how to record and preserve an oral history interview!

Finding A Permanent Home

We’re looking for a space to house our library and eventually host social events!

How To Get Involved

Join the club to gain a subscription to our community publication, the Queer Culture Club Quarterly, and to hear first about our upcoming workshops!

While we look for a more permanent home, we host small workshops in the heart of Capitol Hill on things members want to share. For the founder, this isn’t only oral history, but leatherwork for fun and function.

When we have our own space, club membership will provide access to our library/archive and workshop. Host your own queer event, learn to turn a conversation into a book, and hang out in a community space without the pressure to buy a drink or anything else.

We dream of a space where different generations of Queer folk can come together to share their lives: a haven where we can swap stories, exchange lessons, and honor the history that we make just by living every day.

Join the Club

We all have stories worth telling. Submit your short stories and art about your queer experiences to the Quarterly!

For an Elder’s full life-history interview, speak to one of our Club archivists about joining our library of Queer lives—and receive a handbound hard copy of your interview, too!
